Sesame-Crusted Ahi Tuna

Seafood Ingredient: Yellow-Fin Ahi Tuna

  • 1 Saku block Yellowfin Ahi Tuna
  • 2 Tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbsp white sesame seeds
  • Kosher Salt
  • Olive oil (or cooking oil of your choice)
  • Soy Sauce (optional)

  1. Rinse and blot the tuna.
  2. Mix the black and white sesame seeds with a sprinkle of kosher salt in a bowl big enough to fit the tuna.
  3. Coat the entire outside of the tuna by pressing it into the sesame seeds until the ahi is completely covered.
  4. Preheat a pan on medium heat for five minutes.
  5. Once the pan has been heated, add just enough olive oil to lightly coat the pan. Sear each side of the tuna for 30 - 45 seconds. Slice into 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces. Drizzle with soy sauce (optional). Enjoy!
